Republican Abortion Laws Means More Government Intrusion

An op-ed letter titled "Republican laws intrude on people's privacy" published today in The Tennessean argues that even though the Supreme Court ruled on the right to privacy and legalized abortion in Roe vs Wade decision of 1973, there are groups today trying to intrude on this right to privacy.

These Republican restrictive abortion bills are aimed at making abortion more difficult to obtain, causing women to jump through numerous hoops before having an abortion and, in some cases, subjecting them to biased anti-abortion counseling.

What's most ironic is that Republicans are supposedly the party of smaller government, but what is "smaller government" about creating more laws to control people's lives?
